Not much really...

What I am doing today. What I should be doing is different! So, just thought I would share a bit of what is going on in the gallery today so you can see how very cool the stuff you can do with Far Flung Craft papers.

Check out this project by Heather (and get a load of those earrings!) paper and charms are available from our retailers!

And look how creative Sharon got with the papers. Making a handmade treasure box and using the Batik line of papers.

Its gonna be a great month

I am feeling so light today. It is a beautiful day here in Singapore, it raining like crazy at 5am, so now the air is fresh, the grass has a dew on it and all is right with the world!

This came in the mail the other day.

With this great review for our papers! And look at the layout by my dear friend Edleen!. Such a cool thing to see your products reviewed and know that others like them!

I am also pleased to say we have been picked up by Addicted to Rubber Stamps and you can find some of Far Flung Craft's products through the online store!

Plus, I am meeting with a good friend later next week to dicuss our new products. I hope she can assist us in coming up with some funky designs. I know she has some ideas...and I have some to... I look forward to a partnership with her. Don't want to let the cat out of the bag more than that for now.

Finally, I hope to get some time in the Studio this week. I want/need to craft. I have done so little over the last few months and the days have been filled with book, product and contracts for TI. Can't wait to get back to my creative side... plus maybe I can get my stuff organized? Nah....

Um... where have you been?

The last few weeks have been very busy around here at the Singapore HQ of Far Flung Craft. First, we packed up all of the inventory that used to be located at Far Flung South and moved it up to Far Flung North. As many of you now, this is to facilitate Faye's move to our new Far Flung ANZ headquarters. Faye and her family relocated back to Sydney on Sunday night (flying on the A380 the world's largest passenger jet by the way). (Photo of all the kids at Picotin here in Singapore)

Plus I have been knee, shoulder, elbow and well up to my neck in edits for the "book".
So, back to normal after today, the proof (Version 2) goes in the overnight mail pouch to the editor today and I meet with a new designer tomorrow (about some new products we hope to release this summer!)

More great projects

Sorry about the freak post yesterday under this heading. Blogger and the internet in general were drivin' me crazy. It has been a rough day, lots of things going on around here, super busy... filled with travel and book edits...and product development...as well as a full time job. Plus Faye is about to move back to Australia so we have lots of loose ends to tie up before she leaves Singapore. The good news with her relocation is that orders to Australia will be super lickty split fast... how cool is that!

Anyway, I wanted to share some gallery love again today, the design team just always amazes me with how versitale the Far Flung Craft Products are. They are not just for Asian projects y'all (I was in Texas last week y'all...gotta act Texan!).

Look what Julie has done. She has created Card Candy! In case you didn't know, Card Candy is pre-packaged embellishments that are card assembly ready. You make these little guys up, package them in a cello wrapper and give them away! All you need to do is plop these babies on a greeting card and stamp or write a sentiment. Now how freak'n clever is that!!! So Super Cute and smart... I think I am going to have to do a bunch of these and RAK them around. Another example can be found here...

Now, look at these decorated tins from Lynita. I have so many of these tins/containers around my house and I have just been waiting for a chance to do something like this. While my execution of the project would be different, what an awesome display...Notice how well the Frou-Frou fabrics work with the Bollywood papers! We are all about coordinating products!

So lots of stuff coming soon, including some webpage updates, new retail stores and lots of fun coming soon... just gotta get through to the weekend first :-)

Tail Draggin' and some information...

So in the last 2 weeks I have been in China and Dallas. I have consumed a fair amount of hooch, but not at my normal "I am a raging drunk" level. But, I am so flippin' tired. These trips have taken the wind out of my sails, kicked me in the ass and set me down straight and said..."and you like to travel why?"

Seriously, I have not recalled being this tired after trips, at least not in a while. It could be because I found out my husband in his blessed wisdom figured this was the week to try to force me into a decaffinated lifestyle. NICE TRY... but Starbucks here I come. Perhaps it is the amount of work that is pilling up, perhaps it is the fact that I have pretty much been on the go for 4 months. But, hey, it is still all good. I figure I have another day to get out of this little slump and get some energy back into my system. I have the proof of the Book that needs editing, the FFC website needs an overall before we get some more press in a few weeks and I need to get our new designs finished and to press in mid June for our July in time for CHA summer releases ready.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find this in my mail when I got home.

With a nice little write up in the back....

So the rest of the week will be filled with a volunteer day at Declan's school (I only did two times this year, bad mommy...) and a full day crop with the Create girls on Saturday. I may just take the computer and do some online updates for the website that day... hey, it is all scrapbooking huh?

Plus, a post I have been really mulling over for a while....More soon.

How exciting, we are starting to ship our CHA orders this week! I spent the weekend double checking inventory, packing frou-frou kits and counting charms. Orders should be in the US by Mid March and shipping to stores soon there after!

Layout's by Singapore Scrappers

Here are two great layouts from Maps over on the Scrapper's at Singapore Blog. I love her use of the Bollywood line on this layout, and notice the use of the Filigree Googaw charm?

I also really like how Maps combined the Batik papers on this layout. Notice the flowers are from the Chrys papers and the bamboo stalks are from the self named Bamboo line.

I have posted Maps' projects over on the Far Flung Craft Gallery as well. Feel free to drop me a line and show me your use of the papers and I will post you here as well! Again, awesome work Maps and thanks for Sharing!

Japanese Style

Look at the amazing card by DT member Heather. Using our Tulis Batik Paper (the back side) she created a wonderful Japanese nightscape with stamps from Art Neko

Check it out! Great work Heather.

Wow this month is going crazy fast- and a layout

I can't believe that Christmas is a mere 13 days away. I have done none...zip...zero...zilch of my shopping. We have moved out of our old apartment, have stuff in storage and are crashing in a hotel for a few more nights before moving to a friends house. Good news is we get into the new apartment on Saturday the 22nd... and I can't wait to set up my studio!

In the meantime I need to get an email off to my designer for the book, update the webpages, get a little post Christmas referral program sorted out... simply put, get your local store to carry Far Flung Craft products and you get rewarded. I am also trying to work on a couple of hot projects and I have a trip to Taiwan on Monday... Taiwan friends, I will email you, my schedule is pretty tight but would love to see you...

I also love running across projects that feature Far Flung Craft paper... seriously I need to do something about this, in the mean time... If I find your layout, I will share it here!

This one is by my dear pal Edleen using flowers from the Pareo paper. Simply lovely.

Have a great day all!

Lynita Chin did the great layout featuring papers from the Batik Line from Far Flung Craft.

Don't you just love these papers? Do you want them carried in retail stores near you? Come back next week for some BIG NEWS...a bit of a teaser I know, but lets just say..referrals.....prizes.... fun!!!

Blog Love

I love the fact that we are getting out to the scrappers in the local Singapore market and that they are using the papers!

Here is a link to Salme's Blog where she uses some of the Batik Papers http://totallydoodles.blogspot.com/2007/11/thankful-for.html

More from the Siem Reap Album

I am playing with some of the pictures Jeff took at Siem Reap. The processing came back a bit on the sepia side, but rather than fuss around with getting them re-done, I just thought I would work with them as is.

So, while I try to defrag my hard-drive, write some PR and finish the ad copy for the Scrapbook Retailer and Scrapbook Business ads that are due next week... a few very quick down and dirty layouts from Siem Reap.

When Faye and I designed these lines we really wanted them to be "culturally sophisticated" and I am so happy with the way these work on these pictures from Cambodia. They work well with the colors and the theme of the album and I am so glad that our tag line is more than just a line, I really believe it!

Papers from the Batik Line

These are from both the Batik Line as well as the Bollywood Line

The Bollywood Line feels so right as this gate used to grace the Khymer Kings as they would ride in on Elephant!

Siem Reap Album Cover

Playing with the Pareo patterned paper by Far Flung Craft for the cover of a Siem Reap mini Album. Lots of the Singapore Girls have been using Stickles on these papers and I do have to admit they make the flower just pop don't they???

If you are interested in purchasing these papers make sure to tell your local scrapbook/paper craft store to carry them!

Website Refinements

Been playing a bit with the Far Flung Craft website. Adding some of the paper lines and setting up our links (still in process) and a retail locator.

Go check it out and don't forget to tell your local scrapbooking and paper craft store you want FFC products carried where you are!

Siem Reap and Layout Love

Just back from a quick 3 day trip to Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. AMAZING... this is one of those places I have always wanted to visit and I can only say I need to go back. Three days (2 at the temples) is not enough, a week would be better. You need the time to go, experience and then go back again... So, while I cull through the 750 pictures I took ( I will post the best ones over at Flikr) let me leave you with some layout love.

Ed and Jenn have both done some layouts using Far Flung's new papers...

Check them out!
